Punta Mita, Mexico?

North of Puerto Vallarta, approximately 25 miles driving directions from the airport, is a 1,500-acre resort and residential development on the Riviera Nayarit in Mexico. Ideal for a family vacation in August, the area offers a wide selection of vacation homes, condominiums, and beachfront villas, as well as access to four different beach clubs, tennis courts, pickleball courts, world-class golf courses, and kid-friendly activities.

The gated peninsula community has a full complement of facilities, including restaurants, a store, and even food delivery, as well as a 24-hour concierge. The warm summer months are ideal for a wide variety of outdoor activities, including lounging poolside, surfing, scuba diving, paddle boarding, boating, and cycling. Punta Mita is home to many hotels, including the luxurious Naviva, a Four Seasons Resort and the more affordable Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita.

The historic port of Gloucester is the oldest continuously operating port in the United States. The "Man at the Wheel" statue, also known as the "Fisherman's Memorial," is located on the working waterfront and honors those who have perished at sea. The city hosts a number of celebrations in August to commemorate its 400th anniversary and maritime roots.

Visit the Cape Ann Museum for a glimpse into the town's history and enjoy the city's delicious seafood and coastal breezes. Take a boat ride to explore the harbor's lighthouses, fishing fleets, and lobster boats up close. On August 12th, Stage Fort Park will host the Gloucester Blues Festival, and on August 19th and 20th, the Gloucester Waterfront Festival will be held. For a classic New England summer, choose a room at the Beauport Hotel Gloucester or the Ocean House Hotel in Bass Rocks.
