Welcome To The Wiki!

A wiki is a collaborative website that be constructed and edited by non-technical people. The most famous Wiki is the Wikipedia at https://en.wikipedia.org.

Foswiki

XR is using a slightly different Wiki called Foswiki because it's lighter on resources and easier to maintain.

Using Foswiki's terminology, the whole Wiki is called the Site and within it are individual Webs. Each Web is like separate website within the whole Site - the design can be different, and you can make private Webs.

WikiWords

A Wiki is made up of WikiWords, which are just two or more words with initial capitals all run together like this: FrequentlyAskedQuestions.

WikiWords are automatically links even if the WikiWord doesn't exist yet. A WikiWord that doesn't exist looks like this: PleaseDoNotCreateThisPage. Clicking on a non-existent WikiWord brings you to a page where you have the option of creating that new WikiWord.

Editing WikiWords

Every editable page has an Edit button in the top right hand corner that brings you to a basic but functional editor.

You can experiment with it right now - go to the Sandbox, create a page or two, and play around.

Every single revision of every page is stored, so you don't ever have to worry about losing data.
