Creating an account is best done on your computer instead of on your phone.
Creating steps 2 to 5 of an account on Mattermost are also explained in Part 1 of this instruction video about Mattermost.
Follow the steps below to access Mattermost.
¶ 1. Get a login link from your integrator
To access Mattermost you need to get a login link from your integrator or an experienced rebel in your group. That's how we keep an eye on how not everyone has access.

¶ 2. Click the login link and choose 'view in browser'

Tips for choosing a username
A lot of people have access to Mattermost and everyone on Mattermost can see your user name. For your privacy you can best:
- Do not choose a username with your first and last name
- Consider using an alias instead of your real first name. You can use a different name (e.g. @marieke563 if you are called Lisa) or something that is not a name (e.g. @forestlover78)
Tip: consider creating an additional email address
Your email address is not visible to other users on Mattermost. So you can use your private email address without just leaking it. Still, it can be smart to create an extra email address that doesn't have your (whole) name in it. That's the best way to protect your identity.
A good place to create a secure email address for free is at protonmail.
¶ 4. Go to your email and click 'Verify Mail'
To activate your account you need to confirm that the specified email address belongs to you.
