What is a local group?
A local group is a local department of Extinction Rebellion Netherlands with rebels from that region. The local groups are all different. Each group is independent and chooses its own way of organising. The size of each group is also different. Especially the groups in larger cities such as Utrecht, Rotterdam and Amsterdam are quite large and consist of dozens of rebels.

What is a community group?
A community group is a group of rebels with the same interests or identity. For example, XR Scientists, a group of scientists participating in Extinction Rebellion. Other examples include Rebels of Colour or XR Civil Servants.

What is a national working group?
A national working group (also known as circle) supports other groups or performs tasks that need to be done on a national level. Think for example of the design and management of our website or social media channels. National circles also provide support to other groups to help them organise more effectively.
