Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is an extra layer of security for your account. Instead of only accessing your account with a password, you use an additional factor, such as a code sent to an app on your phone.
Even if you use use secure password practices there are a number of ways in which your password can be stolen in order to access your information. That’s why we recommend that you use multi-factor authentication for all accounts that you use for activism: even if someone gets access to your password, they still won't be able to access your account because they don't have the phone or security key that you use for additonal verification.
To use multi-factor authentication you need to do two things:
If you turn on multi-factor authentication on group accounts, you will lock others out of the account! Make sure that at least 2 other people also have multi-factor authentication enabled on the same account so that the group doesn't lose access to the account.
